A cause of great psychological pain is produced by repressing our feelings, especially the most negative emotions, for fear of telling our “things” to other people. Maybe we have learned that we should distrust other people and preserve information. Perhaps we have been taught that revealing our inner life is weakness.

By not trusting and not revealing, we become congested, inflamed, loaded with intolerable emotions that sooner or later have to come out, often in the least ecological way possible.

Through catharsis we free ourselves and restore our psychological health. There is no reason to explode and unload our passions on others if we know that there are professionals trained in listening and maintaining reserve, as well as providing scientifically proven advice.

We are complex: many times we don’t even know for sure, what do we think? what we feel? Through our reflection in others, by listening to our narrative, our own story, we give substance to our self-esteem and reinvent ourselves.

A song, a movie, a series, open our perception and our heart to our inner reality. However, this is not enough. We must process and digest our emotions and thoughts, reframing them for our well-being. This work of personal liberation can last years, perhaps a lifetime, until the day we say Oh! I just realized… however, it is possible to save ourselves a lot of pain and get rid of many fears, by turning to a psychology professional, who in a reasonable time, with the dedication of both parties, will be able to support us in a successful catharsis.
